| Hayden Associates was retained to design a mechanical evaporator plant to concentrate the wastewater effluent from a Pepsi-Cola concentrate plant. The plant was designed to concentrate 5,000 gallons/day of highly colored process wastewater. The system was automated to operate unattended with performance data transmitted to the QC laboratory and displayed on a color touchscreen monitor. The concentrate, which is concentrated to 50% solids (8,000 btu/lb dry solids), is periodically transported to a brick manufacturer and burned in the kiln. |
